Appino finished 10 seconds behind in 4th running Most of the races came down to margins of less than 5 seconds. It should be fun to see them race against each other again this fall. Appino had a great track season as well finishing 4th in the 2A State Meter Run and 5th at state in the Meter Run. She ran personal bests of 2: Notre Dame still has a top rate runner to step into their 1 spot.
Breitbach did not have a great state track meet finishing 16th in the She did run personal bests of 5: She had a good summer of training according to her coach Dan Gray. Watch for her to be within the top 10 this fall at state. She had 9 top ten finishes during last cross country season including finishing 6th in her sectional race. She earned all-state honors during the track season finishing 8th in the Meter Run in a personal best I believe she can do it.

One thing is for sure, she is a driven young lady. I wouldn't count her down or out because she didn't get in the work she wanted over summer. Come mid-season, she will be in form and pushing with the best of them. She qualified for the 3A state meet in the Meter Dash.
Elder ran a personal best Two years ago we needed her to be the number three runner and she did that every race.
Last year, she was our number two runner and nobody from our team edged her out of that spot. I believe she is capable of significantly dropping her time and running a little closer to Jenna. Sabrina is coming off of a very good track season where she qualified for state in the Meters and was part of our 4 X relay team that also qualified for state. Sabrina also had some excellent workouts this summer and close the gap with Jenna.

After finishing 9th inFioresi ran 5: She also helped her team finish 6th in the 2A 4x4. Her indoor season was just as impressive as she ran 2: As a freshman, she ran Franseen also was all-state in track running a personal best 5: Madison's physical talent is obvious: However, her greatest improvements have been in her decision making process during races.
Madison has always been a headstrong runner and demonstrated her racing savvy even as a middle schooler, but her freshman year afforded her opportunities to try different strategies and tactics during races that led to a lot of conversation and growth. That is her greatest area of improvement over the past season and our focus is to continue racing both smart and fast.
What I admire most about this young woman, though, is her selfless glorification to God through her racing and training. She does not harbor personal pride or entitlement that could come so easily with her early successes; rather, she turns those accolades back towards God.1997 IHSA Boys & Girls Cross Country State Finals

The weather was nice, but the course was soft after several days of rain, and the girls ran extremely well against much of the state's very best competition. The meet featured six of the current top seven teams in the state of Illinois. In the Open Race, the team executed the team race plan well, as they moved throughout to take placesscoring 20 points for the win.
