BATAVIA BULLDOG TRACK AND FIELD *2nd @ IHSA SECTIONALS: QUALIFYING 8 EVENTS TO STATE: , 4x, Outdoor PR SHEETS The Knights XC team earned IHSA State berths in 6 out of the 8 years while placing 4th Prospect Girls Track and Field (Head Coach Dave Wurster ).
Argeni Bailon laid off the pace and ran a solid 9: His time of Hopefully he can clean up his technique and be ready to take a crack at getting All-State next week. Coach Nalley let him finish out his prelim series, but his day was over after neither of those jumps was an improvement.
His jump held up and Cam became our only Sectional champion of the night. Connor has missed the better part of the past year with a long list of ailments.

We basically had him toe the line with his natural talent and three weeks of light jogging. He struggled with his breathing and his racing heart afterward, but he ran a near lifetime best of 2: I can only hope that we can get him healthy and well enough to compete like normal in the coming year.
I knew from looking at the field that we would probably have to lead. I asked Christian to sit the shoulder of the leader through one lap, bring the race through on even splits to 2: He executes race plans like few I have ever known.1988 IHSA Boys Track & Field State Finals
He just needed to relax and ride the pace before exploding in the last lap. Everything happened just like we drew it up.
He moved in rhythm just like we had discussed and the splits were beautiful for all involved. When the real racing started at meters to go, our guys were right there to jump with the pace.

As expected, Martinez fired his kick and the hammers went down. At meters out, Graham went to his arms and put the hammer down. He and Christian gained separation from the rest of the field and set off into the last meters in chase of the lead. I thought at meters to go that Graham might find a way to win, but Martinez proved too strong. Graham edged Christian for the second place auto-qualifying spot, but both guys were comfortably under the 4: Graham recorded a 4: Check our updated All-Time list for the meter run.
Per usual, I was going bonkers afterward, but not for the usual reasons. It was more exciting to see what I knew to be true come into reality. Christian has been hunting sub It was even better to see Graham make his full return. After an injury during the indoor season, Graham had struggled with both his fitness and his confidence. The former had returned bit by bit over the past eight weeks, but no one had seen the fully cocky Graham Brown in awhile. As his teammates can attest, Graham likes to talk.
On this night he backed it up and more. The meter run is absolutely stacked with 40 runners qualified, and both guys will have to run in the 4: I believe they can.
Zambrano has not been in a race yet where he has not had to lead. I hope that all of that hard charging pays off as he gets to ride the pace for once and then kick for all the marbles in the last lap.
Josh Baldus also saved his best discus throw for last. River Crane had a weird day. His shin has been killing him for weeks now and he had to take care of a family emergency during the day before the meet.
With that done, he still came late and ran his best meter dash ever. He placed fourth in a half second PR of On the varsity level, the Wolves won with a total of 63 points.
